My author services appeal to every level of writer, from those just taking the leap into the writing world to authors who are already well-established. If you’re a professional writer, you need a professional editor who knows the writing industry and everything it encompasses.
You might be interested in working with me if you are:
An aspiring author who has received an invitation to revise and resubmit and needs a supportive yet tough editor to help you cross the finish line and secure that offer of representation or publication.
A traditionally published author looking for assistance with an early draft or final polish before submitting your manuscript to your agent or in-house editor.
An independent, hybrid, or self-published author, or someone at an indie press, dedicated to improving your craft and seeking constructive, actionable feedback to take your work to the next level.
An agent with a client (or potential client) whose manuscript is nearly there but requires that extra push to make it as competitive as possible.
A packager needing an experienced editor to help develop a book from the initial concept to a polished, market-ready proposal or manuscript.
A publisher or in-house editor searching for a reliable freelance editor with a proven track record of success in working with authors.
Alchemy Author Services Featured: Hillary Leftwich Puts Supernatural Skills to Work at Alchemy Author Services– THE WESTWORD
Hillary Leftwich has launched a business to help her fellow writers out
“The last thing she wants to be is an editor who tries to reshape the writer’s essential voice, she adds: “This is only about the writing, and how to make the writing better — not change the writer.”
And after all, Alchemy isn’t just about a business run well. It’s also Leftwich’s way of giving back to her writers’ community.
“I’m lucky to be connected to so many others in the field,” she says. “We’re all in a hustle mode now, all of a sudden, and the fact that I can reach out and help speaks a lot about our community.”
Community is huge; it’s the reason many people choose to attend an MFA. Not because of the education so much, but to part of a writing community. So, what about people who can’t afford an MFA? We need to ensure we are also creating space for those people. It shouldn’t be about exclusion. Communities, at their core, are what support everyone and are the root of the writing and creative process.
Writing is a necessary act to our political climate and absolutely impacts our world through people, and people are influenced by what they read. It’s all connected. So, to not consider yourself as actively engaging in politics or our world as a writer, you are, and your words should be regarded as not lightly, but with the thought that words carry power, so what kind of message do you want to send?
